On the Move

I was so excited to discover this morning, that the past few weeks of very hard work, constantly edging a little closer to that goal finally paid off for my little man! He officially crawled this morning and has continued to do so all day long. Mommy was doing the happy dance for him!! What a site that was... LOL!!! I took some video, but I think it is too large to upload so I will get some tomorrow for your viewing pleasure!

Micromanagement

I saw a report on the news this morning that listed some possible flags which might indicate that you are micromanaging your child. One of the indicators is having your child's college selected prior to age 3. I guess I am guilty....

Go Swim!

Ryder was such a good sport today. He hung with me all day long and never complained. I decided to reward him by letting him go swimming for the first time! I had to heat the pool because I am a huge chicken and hate cold water. The water temperature was around 76 F and my body prefers a nice, warm 90 F....so it took until around 6:00 PM before we could swim, but gosh darn we finally did! Ryder loved it..he splashed and splashed and splashed some more! His Wet Hair strangely resembles that of a balding senior citizen..crazy baby...I love him so much!!!

Splashing Mom was so Much Fun!!!

Bucket

I am a sucker for Pottery Barn. I always feel guilty if I buy something from the catalog for myself, but there shouldn't be any guilt if it is for my son..right! At least that is what I tell myself. Well, they had these totally cute buckets that I thought we could put Ryder's Swim Toys in this Summer. I also got him a Beach Towel with a Hood which I haven't seen anything similar at any of the local shops. I got the stuff in and loved it! I loved it so much that I made Ryder pose with his personalized bucket this morning. One day he will get me back for all of this, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there!

Stuck

So the day is finally starting to wind down for me...Ryder has had dinner, spent time with his rubber duck in the bath tub and is now in jammies playing with his toys. My slew of errands that included the gym, taking the dog to the vet, stopping at the post office, two banks, and the grocery store were over (all done with baby in tow and scheduled around two naps, breakfast and lunch). I have fulfilled my work responsibilities for today, balanced the check book and run two loads of laundry. Dinner is in the oven so I decide to come to the computer to check the end of the day emails. Suddenly hear a wail from the other room. Now would be the time to mention that my little man has started to become very mobile just in the last week. He is not crawling officially, but he gets up on all fours, rocks, and then rolls. I am going to check and see what the crisis of the hour might be, when what do I find but a baby stuck under the Entertainment center. How he got there I don't know, but I told him he must stay stuck until Mommy could get the camera! LOL! Guess it is time to start baby-proofing. I filled this little hole with a pillow from the couch... I thought it was definitely worth sharing!!

Cousins

My older sister and I had our babies 2 weeks to the day apart. First came Miss Anna and then Ryder. Even though they are so close in age, they act so differently! Anna is such a serious soul and already so grown up acting! Ryder is the extreme opposite..he is always laughing and all boy. Ryder went for a play date at Anna's a few weeks back and my Sis finally emailed me the pics! I just couldn't believe how well the pictures captured the personalities!

Computer Fights

O.K., so I have been fighting with my computer all week and was not able to make any post. We had a pretty low key week once we got back into town. Matt left for Mexico as usual and Ryder and I stayed around the house. We went down to my Mom and Dad's on Thursday to help them out with a few things and go to Canton on Friday. Canton never happened since it rained pretty good Friday morning and being frank Ryder just wasn't feeling it! Sorry Mom!! He now has his two bottom teeth and I think he is trying to work on the top two. Poor guy is so crabby in the morning because he is getting up around 2 a.m. I have been going up and adjusting him in the middle of the night and then fighting to go back to sleep myself. Thursday night I worked like 10 sudoku puzzles before I fell back to sleep. So, between the two of us we are loads of fun the next day! Last night he either did not wake or I was so tired I never heard him. Sleeping like a baby right now...anyway that was our week in a nutshell. I am posting a few more pictures from the camping trip! Hope you enjoy!
