Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday to my sweet Mother-in-law! She is the woman who raised my husband to be the man he is today, and puts a smile on the faces of my children, like only a Grandma can. Wishing you a fabulous day!!

I ♥ Faces{Phones}
Remember the cruise we went on last summer? I snapped this picture of Matt and Rustin with my phone right after coming aboard the ship. I sent it in a text to my Mom, letting her know we were on the ship and all smiles. It is one of my favorite pictures of these two!! This week's theme at I ♥ Faces is a camera phone photo challenge...phones take some crazy good pictures these days! Go check the rest out here!

Something Fun
Sick Baby and Taxes...need I say more? Rrrrr! I did manage to sneak in making this cute wreath for a friend who will be having a baby in March.
I was given a wreath similar to this with Rustin and I loved it so much that it still hangs in his room. The card is a space where you can add the baby's name, time of birth, weight and length. Hang it on the door of your hospital room for guest to see the specifics when they visit. It is super easy. You need a wire wreath form, a package of newborn diapers, ribbon, wooden letters and scrapbook paper. To Assemble:
1. Loop Ribbon around the Wreath to cover wire frame. I cut my ribbon into strips and hot glued loops to each section (3 per section).
2. Place 9 diapers on the wreath by opening each diaper and sliding it over the wreath form. I hot glued them in place.
3. Take a coordinating ribbon and thread over the diapers.
4. Cover any exposed areas by tying little bows with extra ribbon.
5. Take Wooden letters and trace their shapes on scrapbook paper. Cut the paper out and Modge-Podge the paper onto the wooden letters.
6. Once the letters dry, hot glue them onto the diapers.
7. Add a card out of coordinating scrapbook paper where the Birth Details can be added after the baby is born!
WaaLaa! You are done!

A House for Pluto
Its the time of year that love is in the air...Valentine's day is just around the corner! Actually...we don't celebrate Valentine's Day here. I guess its not that we don't celebrate it...its just not one of those days that we typically buy each other gifts. Strike that...It's not one of those days that I typically buy Matt gifts. It usually plays out like this:
Matt: We doing anything for Valentine's this year?
Me: Nope
Matt: Promise
Me: Yep
Valentine's Morning arrives and there is a box of Sprinkles Cupcakes with something I've had my eye on sitting next to them...for Matt there is nothing. You'd think I'd learn...but I don't.
Anyway, we were home today with the streets icy AGAIN and I decided to work on a project. Ryder's School is having their Annual Teddy Bear Parade on Friday. Its the day when you decorate a box for your favorite stuffed animal to ride in, and then each kid pulls their "float" through an obstacle course in the gym. You may remember this post from last year when we built the "Love Truck" for Ming-Ming to ride in.
Last year Ryder wouldn't give a stuffed animal a second look. This year he has a "Little" Pluto that he is inseparable from. We have a "Big" Pluto, too, but he just doesn't hold the same magic that Little Pluto holds. Little Pluto must be in the room if Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on. Little Pluto is a must at bedtime. Little Pluto sometimes becomes life like...he requests lunch, needs water, gets put in time-out and always needs a nap. I decided to build Little Pluto a doghouse for the parade. Ryder was so excited!
We started with a Build-A-Bear Box.
Ryder helped me use the scissors and a little duct tape. He went down for a nap and I kept working with some sheets of foam and foam glue. This was our end product.
Big Pluto is hanging out inside for now because Little Pluto had a date in the playroom ;).
Little Pluto did try out the water bowl and we got a huge smile from Ryder...a successful day with the glue gun here at Ft. Smith.

My day with a 3 year old
Today, I was told by my 3-year old son, that I am a lady....no wait...I am a "Big" Lady.
Today, I climbed to the top of the Chic-Fil-A Playground to rescue the same terrified 3-year old, who just a half-second before I reached him joyfully screamed, "I'm o.k.”.
Today, my 3-year old son requested Broccoli for dinner. This was an unusual request from someone who only eats bananas, cereal bars, microwave macaroni and cheese, fish sticks and French fries.
Today, I witnessed what was quite possibly the biggest tantrum ever thrown by a 3 year old, because I made broccoli for dinner.
Today, through it all...I still managed to make my 3-year olds day by driving through the car wash. He loves the car wash more than anything. I love him to the moon and back....even on days like today. Praise God that he is healthy and here to drive me crazy on days like today.
Please say a prayer for the The McClenahans today, as they mark the 2nd anniversary since the loss of their sweet baby girl.

His new hang out
I'm always walking into the Kitchen and finding these brown eyes...
....hanging out here...
....its the footrest under the breakfast counter. My guesstimate is that it is 12" off of the ground, but to Rustin it might as well be 12' off of the ground. He gets up there and then trembles at the thought of getting down. I love watching him fret and then being his hero as I gently hoist him down. Makes my day!

Our Snowy Friday
Snow twice in a few weeks time is unheard of in Texas...but that is exactly what we got this first and second month of 2011.

Who Knew?
Who knew Kroger could be this much fun? Pushing a toddler 100 MPH in a Mini-Grocery Cart = The Most Fun had this week. Of course the it doesn't help that we've been locked inside since Monday evening. Ice is no fun. We had to have a Costco fix this afternoon and saw 5 wrecks along the way...sheesh! Warm up already!
