Yum Yum to my Tum Tum!!!

Just have to say that my tummy is super excited! Ryder and I were running errands today which consisted of going to our (or my) favorite shopping center, the Arlington Highlands. We were walking to Borders when what to our wandering eyes did appear but a "Now Hiring" sign at the future home of a Freebirds World Burrito!!!! YUMMMMMMMMMM, is all I can say!!!! This was my absolute favorite place to eat in College!!! I can't tell you how much I love it!!! I was so excited!!!! Ryder thought I had gone nutty and we had to stop and send a Text to Matt so we could spread the good news! Absolutely made my day! If you've never been, you must go!!!

It is one of those days when all I can say is "Whew"! It is one of those days when I feel like I didn't see my baby boy at all yet he has been here all day. It is one of those days when you get home from the Grocery store and realize the most important thing you went after didn't make it home with you. It is one of those days that was so hot I couldn't help but crave water and the ice from Sonic. It is one of those days that I was able to eat Dinner with my Husband, my Father and my Sister...such a rarity. It is one of those days that I sit down to catch my breath and look around only to realize how wonderful the day is. It is a day to thank God for his beautiful blessings. It is the end of this day and I am so tired yet can't find the urge to sleep.... so instead I will give the update on us....

We were all sickies last week with some kind of yucky middle of the summer cold/allergy/I don't know what. All I know is that it starts with a sore throat. The kind of sore throat that makes you feel like you have rocks in the depths of your mouth every time you swallow. Then that goes away and in comes the stuffy congestion. It is finally finding its way out the door. Ryder and I still have the remnants of a runny nose, but can't complain beyond that.

Ryder finally got those top two teeth that have been causing him so many problems the past few weeks. The poor little thing really struggled with those two, which was something new for me because the bottom two seemed to come through without very many teething woes to speak of. He is into EVERYTHING Now!! We purchased a gate for the top of the stairs, but are having trouble finding something for the bottom. I know he is on his way up when he gets really quiet. It takes a lot of deep concentration to climb up those steps. I always catch him about stair two and he squeals when he sees me coming. His next strategy is to viciously try to get up the next step before I can grab him. Stinker!!!

Matt has taken a new position so that he won't be traveling like he was. His new project is in Dallas!! Yippee!!!! No more trips to Mexico and Ryder and I will have Daddy here every night of the week. We are very excited!, well I have made my fifth trip to Target for the week and...yep that's my life! Wouldn't change it for a thing!!!

My personal opinion is that a post without pictures is no fun, so here is a blast from the past that I found on my computer this week. It has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but made me laugh to myself when I came across the file. This is Pre-Ryder on a trip Matt and I took to Disneyland. We have another one where his score is like 100,000 to my 15,000...but for some reason that file can no longer be found...

My Guinea Pigs

I have a new camera. More than that I love playing around with digital scrapbooking. I am learning and very much a beginner, but it is the most addictive and enjoyable thing I have ever done. Too bad it doesn't make any money! LOL! Anyway, I decided that if I want my layouts to look good, I need my pictures to look better. So....I have been practicing. Here are some of my guinea pigs!

In the front yard waiting for Daddy to get home

We stopped to see Cousin Anna and I made her pose, too!

First Hair Cut

Matt decided to take Ryder with him to the Barber Shop yesterday. Ryder does not have a lot of hair and what hair he does have is really blonde. So, it looks like less hair than it actually is...but the back was getting really fuzzy. Matt was calling it a "Mullet"...I promise it really was not that bad. I would not let my child go around with a mullet. Anyhoo, he ended up getting the back trimmed up at the Barber...his first haircut!!! Of course, I was totally unprepared so we didn't get any pictures of him getting it cut. Matt did save some of the "fuzz" for me! I took some pictures after his bath last night. Not too much of a difference as you will see!

First of all, I have been so bad about blogging. I am so sorry and as for an explanation, well...I am boring. Ha! Not much has been going on with our gang! Ryder and I have been trying to beat the heat this summer so I've taken him swimming almost every day. He loves to splash and it really seems to wear him out. He takes a good long nap after our trip back in from the swimming pool.

We spent the 4th of July here eating yummy food with our familias!

This week we finally broke down and bought Matt a new truck. His truck is almost 10 years old and had 250 K Miles on it, needless to say he was super excited to get something new. I keep teasing him because I will find him just sitting in it. He says he is trying to figure out all of the gadgets, silly boy!

Yesterday, we went to Weatherford for their annual Peach Festival! It really was fun, if you've never been! Lots and Lots of good people watching which I am ashamed to admit is one of my favorite things. I do give the Warning that it was Very, very Hot...but lots of fun!

Anyhoo, that is "us" in a nutshell the past few weeks!
